Hai i am l kannan from a small village and from very back ward District dharmapuri in tamil nadu.just about 20 to 30 houses ones it was a very big village first it broke in to 2 colonies after that people started to migrate near by cities with their familes for better employment mostly the families didnt returned back to their place.First of all i want to give meaning of my village Gudalur ari kodi Ari kodi means starting of water pond in tamil nadu villages we use to have ponds in mostly village to save rain water in and to increase ground water leavel aroud near by wells and tubeswells for better irrigation and live stock feeding .we have a small temple mariamman temple wich is still under constrution we have a annual function for there days when mostly our people from all over places come back to celeberate we have a small post office and a milk collecting booth were farmers give their collected cows milk.
Transport facilities we have one bus routeit comes little near to village but it comes twice a day one early morning aroung 5.40 am and next in evening
6.30 pm all the bus starts fron Harur near by big town or city rest of the day we have to travel by foot east 3 kilometeres north 5 kilometres for bus near by places are
Theerthamalai is an important sacred place in Harur taluk of Dharmapuri District. Shri Theerthagirishwarar Temple is located at the top of a hillock. Chola and Vijayanagara Kings donated liberally to this temple. A lot of devotees throng the temple during the Mahashivarathiri. The Department of Tourism has a Guest Houses for the benefit of the devotees. Theerthamalai is declared as an important tourist spot in Dharmapuri District.Sitheri is also one of the renowed place for sandal wood in dharmapuri district.
